WASHINGTON (Public Radio of Armenia)—Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian has met with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland.
The parties hailed the high-level bilateral relations between Armenia and the U.S. and emphasized the importance of the agreement on visa facilitation that came into effect in 2015.
Nalbandian and Nuland also discussed the development of Armenian-American economic cooperation. They exchanged views on the forthcoming founding meeting of the U.S.-Armenia Trade and Investment Council.
Nalbandian also briefed Nuland on the process of constitutional reforms in Armenia.
Cooperation within international organizations was also on the agenda. Nuland expressed gratitude to Armenia for its active participation in peacekeeping operations.
Nalbandian and Nuland also exchanged views on the process of peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict. Nalbandian presented the situation created by Azerbaijan’s harsh violations of the ceasefire regime.
Nuland expressed her deep concern over the escalation of tension and stressed the importance of observing the ceasefire.
The two also discussed issues of fighting terrorism, developments in the Middle East, and the protection of minority rights.
