A delegation of representatives of the ARF and ANCA met with President Serzh Sarkisian on Sept. 30
WASHINGTON—Armenian Revolutionary Federation and Armenian National Committee of America leaders met with Armenia’s President Serzh Sarkisian during his September 30th visit to Washington.
Those meeting with President Sarkisian were Armenian Revolutionary Federation Bureau member Hagop Der Khatchadurian, ARF Eastern U.S. Central Committee member Hovsep Avakian, former ANCA Chairman Garo Armenian, current ANCA Chairman Ken Hachikian, and ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian. The meeting addressed a broad range of pan-Armenian concerns, including the escalation of Azerbaijani aggression and the efforts by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce and Ranking Member Eliot Engel (D-NY) to end the OSCE’s failed policy of false parity in response to Baku’s growing belligerence. The participants also discussed the security and welfare of Syrian Armenians, Constitutional reforms in Armenia, the development of U.S.-Armenia economic relations – including through a new bilateral Tax Treaty, and the Armenian Genocide Centennial.
Joining President Sarkisian in this meeting were Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Ambassador to the U.S. Tigran Sarkisian, and the Presidential senior staff.
