YEREVAN (PanARMENIAN.net)—A space museum opened on Saturday at the new Technopark in the Nor Nork district of Yerevan.
The museum features exclusive samples of early space research, including the work and contributions of Armenian scientists. Featured exhibitions at the museum include a real landing capsule and other devices that have travelled to space and a replica of the Orion-2 space observatory that has been showcased at EXPO 2000 in Hannover.
Also displayed at the museum are early space research and space flight-related documents, including handwritten papers belonging to Soviet astronauts who passed pre-flight training in Armenia, designers of the Vostok and Soyuz spacecraft, as well those of NASA astronauts and designers of American spacecraft.
A valuable document exhibited at the museum is a handwritten draft article co-authored by academic Grigor Gurzadyan and Nobel laureate Hans Bethe, a German-American physicist who played a key role in the creation of the first nuclear bombs.
