STEPANEKRT–The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Ministry reported that on Friday night Artsakh Armed Forces repelled multiple attacks on the Karabakh-Azerbaijan border, where two Azerbaijani soldiers were killed and many others were reportedly injured.
During the fighting, 19-year-old Artsakh soldier Fidar Igor Aloyan was killed.
On Saturday, Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan made a surprise visit to the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, according to a Facebook post by Defense Ministry spokesperson Artstun Hovannesyan.
Ohanyan met with Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan and discussed the escalating tensions on the frontline, as well as continuing collaboration between the armed forces of the two republics.
“The situation was extremely tense on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border at night. Artillery weapons, tanks were used, with several Azerbaijani subversive groups thrown back to their positions,” Hovannesyan said in his Facebook post.
