YEREVAN (ARKA)—The head office of the Armenian Jewelers Association (AJA) will relocate to Yerevan, Armenia, on January 1, 2016.
In recent years the head office of the AJA has been relocating from one country to another without having a permanent residence. The constant relocation was prompted by the desire of the Association to promote the development of jewelry industry in Armenia and help its transformation into one of the world’s jewelry capitals.
Previously, many Armenian international organizations operating for decades in different countries relocated their head offices to Armenia in order to meet Armenian legislation.
With this move, Armenian jewelers all over the world, regardless of what country they live in, will be able to have their own place in Armenia, located within the Meridian free economic zone.
The Meridian free economic zone offers its resident companies the following benefits: free repatriation of capital, profits and dividends, no currency restrictions, state support for the jewelry sector, the rich tradition of Armenian jewelry and the availability of skilled workforce. Residents are exempted from all taxes, except income tax.
