YEREVAN—Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian on Friday told the visiting co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group of the atrocities committed by Azerbaijani forces against Armenians in Karabakh, saying that they amounted to war crimes.
Speaking to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov, James Warlick and Pierre Andrieu, and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk, Ohanian presented a briefing of the military activities in the last week, specifically outlining what he called war crimes against Armenian servicemen and civilians, as well as other violations of provisions of the law of armed conflict.
Ohanian expressed Armenia’s willingness to resolve the Karabakh conflict peacefully, and emphgasized the need to maintain the cease-fire with a legally binding agreement.
