The German Bundestag will start discussing the Resolution “On the Genocide of Armenians and Other Christian Minorities 101 Years Ago in the Ottoman Empire and Remembrance” on 2 June at 11:10, as reported on the official website of the German Bundestag. The discussions will be broadcast on www.bundestag.de.
Despite Turkey’s pressure, the draft of the Armenian Genocide Resolution co-authored by the parliamentary factions of the Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union (CDUCSU) and the Social-Democratic Party (SDP) was included in the agenda of the German Bundestag with the specific term “genocide”. Both coalitional and opposition factions support the adoption of the draft resolution.
