YEREVAN (Armenpress)—Henrikh Mkhitaryan, midfielder of Armenia’s national soccer team and Manchester United club, will be appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia. Communication Officer at UNICEF Armenia Zara Sargsyan said the ceremony will take place on November 9 at the Football Federation of Armenia.
It’s over half a century UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors help children and women throughout the world to protect their lives and improve living conditions.
Celebrities cooperating with the UNICEF often serve as ambassadors in order to raise money for the cause.
