YEREVAN—Henrikh Mkhitaryan−Armenia’s football team captain and football team captain and Manchester United midfielder− visited the Hematology Center in Yerevan on Thursday.
Mkhitaryan visited the children patients of the center and gifted them signed footballs, shirts and photos. The patients, in turn, performed for Mkhitaryan and giftedo him a handmade poster.
“A child’s smile can really light up the world. So grateful to spend some time with these little heroes at the Hematology Center in Yerevan. Thanks for your gifts! Stay strong!” Mkhitaryan wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday.
Mkhitaryan said he hopes the visit will be a small contribution to uplift the children’s spirits during their treatment.
The 28-year-old’s visit took place at the invitation of First Lady Rita Sarkisian. A video of the visit, provided by the Football Federation of Armenia, can be watched below.
