YEREVAN (RFE/RL)-Armenia will soon send a small contingent of troops to Afghanistan to help the United States and its NATO allies fight the Taliban insurgency, a senior NATO official said on Friday.

Armenia is likely to contribute to NATO and U.S. operations in Afghanistan by sending forces, an Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman has confirmed, without specifying details.

RA National Security Council discussed three issues which are priorities in their work, Arthur Baghdasaryan, secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia, told a press conference.
