Children receiving water after section of Aleppo were liberated by the Syrian army

ALEPPO, Syria—The Armenian neighbourhoods of the city began receiving water on Wednesday afternoon, according to an Arevelk source in the city.

The source added that distribution of water can be short-termed and that the neighbourhoods remain without electricity.

Last week, the Syrian army recaptured the only road into the government-held side of Aleppo city from Islamic State group fighters, state media reported, effectively breaking a nearly two-week-long siege. The army gained full control of the route from the regime-controlled west of Aleppo to Khanasser, Ithriya and Al-Salmiyeh “after eliminating a number of Daesh (IS) terrorists,” state television said.

Fars News is reporting Thursday that the Syrian army made huge advances in the Southwestern countryside of Aleppo, and prevailed over the Al-Hadher region a stronghold of the Islamist al-Nusra Front.
Al-Hadher was al-Nusra’s main stronghold in Aleppo and its collapse can have a domino effect on other Southwestern parts of the Northern province in Syria and lead to expelling the militants from them.

A number of terrorists deployed in the city have been witnessed as withdrawing towards al-Ais town in the Western parts of al-Hadhar city.

The Syrian army troops are prevailing over Aleppo with an increased momentum in the province following its groundbreaking battle win in Kuweires military airport.

Field sources said on Thursday the army purged militants from the villages of Kherbet al-Mazare, Kherbet Nazha and Kherbet Mshaweh in the Southwestern countryside of Aleppo.

Earlier on Thursday, the Syrian army won full control over two other strategic villages in Aleppo province, leaving scores of Islamist miltatants dead.

The forces liberated the villages of Musharfah Al-Murayj and Tal Al-Arba’een in Aleppo from the control of the Takfiri Islamist group on Thursday.

On another front in Syria, Fars News is reporting that the Syrian army has entered Marj al-Sultan military airbase in Eastern Ghouta in the Damascus countryside while heavy clashes were underway between them and the Islamist militants in the region, the second airport taken back by the pro-government troops in the last 3 days.

The Syrian army troops and National Defence Force (NDF) broke through Jeish al-Islam’s defences at the Marj al-Sultan Military Airbase and reportedly entered the airbase in the East Ghouta region of Damascus province.

Following the capture of the army base, the Syrian soldiers and their allies pushed towards the army terrain that is situated to the South of the helicopter fields, capturing half of the area. According to latest report, Syrian forces are now making a push towards the helicopter fields.
