US Assistant Secretary of State Phil Gordon responded to questions on Armenia-Turkey relations and the Obama Administration's Europe policy during June 16, 2009, testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe.

Gordon expressed support for establishment of "commissions in key areas including history" during ongoing Armenia-Turkey dialogue. He also responded to a host of Congressional questions, including one by Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) regarding Turkey's crackdown on free speech with regard to the Armenian Genocide.
